A full mouth restoration corrects imperfections in your bite position while enhancing the aesthetic appearance of your smile. The procedure utilizes computer technology and an artistic eye to restore your teeth, bite and surrounding muscles.
By combining the science of neuromuscular dentistry with the art of cosmetic dentistry, a full mouth restoration can correct many problems, including:
Using neuromuscular dentistry, Dr. Patti Swaintek-Lamb and Dr. Cheryl Tauriello, will measure and determine your jaw’s optimal position. Once that position is determined, your jaw alignment will be corrected by using an orthotic or dental restorations; or both. An orthotic is a virtually invisible appliance that fits over the top of the lower teeth, and works to gently reposition your jaw. Dental restorations, such as dental crowns, porcelain veneers, or inlays and onlays may also be used to correct your bite.
Once our dental team determines what method is best for you, the full mouth reconstruction begins. If an orthotic is recommended, you will wear it anywhere from several weeks to several months. This alone may correct your bite. If it does not, porcelain dental restorations can be added to lengthen and straighten your teeth so that your bite can fall into its ideal position. These dental restorations are not only attractive and natural-looking, they are also very durable, thereby creating a smile that is as functional as it is beautiful.
At Aesthetic Dentistry, we use TENS and K7 Evaluation System to determine your ideal jaw position. The TENS is a low-level electrical impulse machine that works by exercising your jaw muscles and releasing the lactic acid buildup from muscle overuse in the wrong position. The K7 is bite measurement technology that measures your jaw's muscle function in both stressed and relaxed positions.
